94 gtp vs dodge neon
I just purchased a 94 GRAND PRIX GTP to have for my second car. The car has the 3.4 DOHC, DUAL EXHAUST and I wasted no time taking out the factory air box and putting in a 4' cone to give it a better sound. Anybody who knows about these cars should know that when you floor it, it has a roar like a v8 car. Well anyway I'm driving and I pull up next to this guy in a NEON, don't know what mods he got but I see a big *** pipe on the back. Light changes he gets me off the line by a car length. I was behind him up until we approached a slight turn in the road. His biggest mistake was letting me see his brake light come on, so right then and there I held the steering wheel real tight hit the gas a little more and floored it. By the time we reached the light I had him by 2 cars. He pulled up we gave each other the thumbs up and I told him he had me beat up until he stepped on his brake. OH HOW I LOVE THOSE TURNS!!

Watch out for the turbo Grand Prix'*. My friend had one (had the fron end ran over by a dump truck not stopping for a stop sign) and it was pretty dang quick (he had a couple minor mods). I raced him with my 1992 Bonneville SE that had a few mods and even after I had stripped 360 lbs out of the car he could still pull 1-2 car lengths ahead of me in a 2 block race.
Now in my 1994 SLE (about as fast as my old 92 SE) I can pull about 3 car lengths ahead of my co-worker who has a 1995 GTP in a 2 block race.
Another thing that you really need to maintain/replace is the serpentine belt (I'm not sure if you have the serpentine belt or a timing chain/belt). Anyhow my co-worker had his go out and it ruined his engine -cost him $2100 to get a used motor and have it installed.
Good luck with the car and hope to see you at some of our Bonneville meets maybe.

That'* about the same odds as seeing a 93 SSEi. There were only 6000 something of them made. Most years of the SSEi were like that. In fact, I think it got lower in more recent years.
Nice little car. Hope you get some more years out of it.
There is very little chance you will ever see one though, there were only something like 6000 made. They were only available in Red & Black with Gold Crosslace Wheels, and they were only 1989 & 1990.
