Miss-firing
Hey guys,
I got the new HB on and running good a couple of weeks ago but now a now a new problem arises, I'm thinking blown head gasket. It sputter badly trying to keep it'* idle and has lost of unburnt fuel (smell it through the exhaust!). No fire? Maybe. But I'm thinking loss of compression. This happened around 4 grand while flooring it :/
As to note, I was left stranded on the side of the road for a good 40 mins at 12 at night on a dark road with nothing but my cell phone as a light and a pair of pliers in my trunk. Trying to get her to work. Checking for lose plugs or cables. Out of no where, she worked again.. for another 1.5km and then it started again. I finally pulled over on the bridge, sexy police women called a tow truck for me, when it arrived I gave it one last try and it worked fine ... until 600m down the road, luckily I was able to slowly drive it to the Canadian Tire right next to me (That'* where I work)
Any thoughts?
-Bad ground?
-Bad coils?
or a nice blown head gasket? It'* the 4K hard push that concerns me the most...
Thanks.

I have yet to see a blown head gasket. I suggest pulling all the plugs and inspect them. if one isn't firing it will be black. Could be a bad coil. Also have you done a compression test?

Going to ask you to elaborate a bit more.
some good info to provide.
What year and model car that you drive:
Have you scanned, what codes are present?
Does it feel like the catalytic is plugged?
Could you have bad fuel?
Are all cylinders firing?
Is the fuel pressure good?

Have you scanned, what codes are present? Nope, but the car always had CEL present with non working ABS and TCS.

Bad idle can be caused by things like a dirty throttle body, dirty idle air control, or vacuum leaks. I would start with checking for any vacuum leaks, including the EGR tube. Also clean up the throttle body real good. Carbon deposits can cause all kinds of problems.
