MINT condition..very nice car, only 40k on the odometer. The inside of my car felt empty after sitting in the SSE (as my car has no HUD, CCR, full power seats, moonroof, or electronic dash).

I was curious to ask the salesman about its service history (specifically the upper intake) but didnt have the time. Oh well, might have to go back tomorrow.

I think the 99'* were all taken care of. Shouldnt have no worries about the upper intake.

I don't think I've heard of a 99 losing an intake, either. But CCR is crap. You'll end up replacing the CCR struts with standard gas struts eventually.

As far as I've heard, or remember, the year they switched over to the new intake was 99, so it may or may not be good. Many 99'* were built in 98 so, who knows.

Yea I know that CCR sucks and the first thing i did was make sure that both the suspention lights didnt come on at the same time. I still like the extra buttons anyway, lol. How do the air struts in the rear tend to hold up?

Did 99s use a different intake? I figured it was the same crappy plastic type that my 97 needed last summer.

Also didn't that recall about the intake backfire apply to 99 models? Thats another thing to check out.

The intakes were not improved until the 2000 model year. I just changed my 99 and it was stamped with 12/98. The upper intake hadn't failed yet, however, the lower gaskets were terrible. I know for a fact that 57chevythunder hydrolocked his 99 due to the upper intake failure at 90K. Do a search on his posts. The 99s are not immune!!
