My 89 Can Still Get Up And Say Bye, Bye.

ok, I don't know the exact specifications of horsepower or torque of it, everywhere you look online every site has different specs, anywhere from 170 horse, to 265. It is a 1995 Z71 VIN K, which is a 5.7 liter throttle body fuel injected V8, and yes, it does redline at 4,000 RPM. Want pictures of the dash to prove it?
also, it is plenty driveable. My interpretation of it being slow is comparing it to what I'm used to driving...and compared to that it IS very sluggish. It was however quicker than my old car, an 88 lesabre 3800 Vin C.
1996 was the first year of the vortec 350 which featured sequential fuel injection, instead of the old throttle body fuel injection. I am well aware that the newer (newer than 96) redline at over 5,000 RPM.
also, this truck has only 62,000 miles on it, and it is already having transmission problems. I do like GM products more than dodge, so I'm not biased in this, just stating the facts of the situation.

Custom is pretty close to the hp specs on the 5.7 for 1995. I was deciding between my Bonneville SE SC and a 1995 Yukon GT. I was leaning toward the Yukon, but....long stroy. Anyway, the 1995 5.7 is rated at 210 hp and the 1995 4.3 (W engine) is rated at 195 hp. (I owned a 1994 blazer with the W engine and it only had 165 hp, the 1995 was up at 195hp and the 1996 went back down to 190 hp). As far as the redline, I am not sure so I will hold my peace.

my digital camera does not take darker pictures very well (or any picture for that matter lately) but you will get the idea of it. You can still tell that once the tach gets to 4k RPM, the red starts, also, when floored it will not EVER go past 4,000 RPM. it always shifts right at it. It'* definately a 350, it says so right on the sticker under the hood.

Like 8.7 or 8.9? I figured 95s should be a tad faster.

5.3L in a 94? Maybe you mean 4.3L V6?
99 was the first year of the smaller block. It'* actually a 327, but unrelated to the old Chevy workhorse.
My 98 Z71 is a 5.7L Vortec, last year for that engine, but ALL of the GM trucks had the 350/5.7L Vortec from 96-98, except for a very small number of 4.3L V6'*, which could be had in anything if ordered. My previous truck was a full size 93, extended cab short bed K1500 (half ton 4x4) with the 4.3L and a 5-speed. Did great. No comparison to the Z, though.
