Yeah Pete, i bet that C5 takes your bonnie to the cleaners....
My household goes like this (i think)
1. 1993 Bonneville Se L27 3800 Automatic
2. 1998 Yukon (one of the rare 5.7L year) 5.7L 350, Automatic
3. 1988 Chev Nova 1.6L I-4, Manual
4. 2001 Toyota Camry 1.6l? I-4 Auto
I know mines the fastest by far, but i think the yukons torque lets it win. I'm 75% sure the nova is faster then the camry cause of the stick...

well
They have had full size blazer (type thing) sence 69 2 door.
I think my next project (not next car) is going to be a 69-72 Chevy/GMC- blazer/jimmy
-full removable top... very neat
And quess what the bulk of them came with? 5.7 350! (optional 2x4 and 4x4)
kinda sucks the only thing that comes with 5.7 now a days is the vette and that new gto.
The 350 will never die!

no..
Ive accaully been looking at a yukon (well im not the wife is for the boat or camping trailer- she doesnt like the smell/noise my duramax makes.. lol)
The new body style yukons/tahoes (00-03) come with 5.3 engine only. (unless you go to denail(truck or suv) or escalde-ext-esv- then you get a 6L)
The yukon XL/Suburbans come with 5.3 (the 3/4tons come with 6L or optional 8.1)
My friend has a 98 GMC suburban it has a 5.7vortec! after I think 96 they went "vortec" whitch I think is ported fuel injection? because sence 87-96 they have had TBI
The standerd engine is 350, I dought anything from 88-99 in the "yukon/suburban-4 or 2door" form came with anything smaller.

My friend had a 94 i believe, a silverado, he has a 5.3L. He has a 1500, our Yukon is a 1500 and has the 5.7L.
SIlly Carpoint says it'* rated at...
Horsepower 255 @ 4600 RPM
Torque (lb-ft) 330 @ 2800 RPM
Umm GM said it was 265 for HP, and that was underated. That torque is also WAY underated. Great engine though, only problem was when somethig cracked and it would "flood" the cylinders eventually when not running. I don't know the specifics but it took a few turns to get it up then. Runs like a champ now though, i wan't a nice exhaust on it, but i don't think that will happen soon.
