ok down the road from my house is a 94 gtp which had the 3400 in it. since june ish i have been trying to sell a l67 motor/trans and ecu out of a 98 regal and i question is would the l67 fit in the gtp pretty easily or would it be a pain? the gtp is 500 bucks with 124k miles and would be something fun to do. what all would i need and what coud i keep from the original 3400?

Billboost might have a answer for this. I'm not sure if they use the same motor mounts and subframe. There is the option of transferring the subframe.

UGH!
Please refrain from PM'ing car related questions to Admins/MODS/Gearheads, it takes away from the forum. You may get an answer, but that doesn't answer the question here, where OTHER members may have the same question.

I think the best way to find out, is to visit a 3400 based forum. Ask those guys if anyone has ever upgraded to a 3800.

Now, if its possible, then you are going to need the ENTIRE 3800 engine/trans, axles, PCM, wiring harness, fuel pump(*/C need more fuel pressure), and mounting brackets. And maybe the steering knuckles with wheel bearings.
That'* about what I can think of...

BOOSTY! We need your expertise in here!

Actually Mike, please don't discourage members from pm'ing me to get my attention. Sometimes I don't see a post and the pm gets me to the topic. All of the good info would be posted and not just pm'd.

On the swap. I'm not 100% and the best place would probably be a GP specific forum. I've browsed a couple and remember this question being answered. Unfortuantely my hard drive was full that day and I didn't retain the answer.

In 94 though, the subframe was likely different because they didn't have the 3800 available.
