Default Mom'* New GA GT

My mom and dad just brought home my mom'* new Grand Am GT. It is very very nice looking, having a sleek black finish, chrome wheels, 3400 V6 with ram-air, and the fake hood scoops. They let me take it out for a ride. I drove it around for about 15 minutes. It handles very nice. The braking is a lot more firm and the steering felt a bit looser, so it took some getting used to. When I had the chance, I put my foot in it, and it took off. It has no where near the torque snap of the 3800, but it is more responsive than mine, shifting a lot quicker, and it hits higher RPM'* quicker. It accelerates pretty nice, but it doesn't compare to the 3800'* power.

I still love my Bonnie.

Overall, it is a fun car to drive, and I can see why so many people on the road have one. I would never leave my Bonneville, or a 3800, but it is definitly a very nice car.

I will get pics of my 3 car Pontiac family as soon as I get my car'* roof painted.

Thats a good heads up Sol, but it is a brand new car, so everything should be top notch at this point. I betcha that when the GA is the same age as your car now, it won't be half the car it is now.

Also it fades fast beside a ride like an SSE

Those aren't fake are they? They're functional from what I know. I'd never get a Grand Am, but IF I did, I only get it with the ram air hood option, since the other GAs and GA GT'* are so common. Your mom'* GA should have 175hp. But without that hood it would have had 170. (I'm pretty sure that'* right :?: )

They are non-functional. The ram air scoops are next to the headlights on the inside. It does produce 175HP. They could be functional with a little cutting though

Wow, I thought they also took in air. I guess they left that out in the booklet. :?

But that'* true since the GA GTs without that hood have Ram Air between the lights like you said, and have the ram air badge on the side. I wouldn't have thought they'd make a nice looking hood like that and add another $1200 or so for that option and not be functional. Oh well! Still looks nice (nicer than MY previous hood)

Yea. It'* a solid built American product. Great for the daily driver, and just enough power to have a little fun with. I think that is what GM was going for.

And your mom'* is black! That'* gotta look VERY sweet! Leather seats I assume? My sister'* b/f has the same thing minus the hood. I challenged him to a race but he lives in Michigan so I haven't gotten a chance yet. My sister thinks he'll beat me. Yeah right! She doesn't know much about cars (obviously)
