Lets Talk Tires...
I'm in need of some new rubber pretty soon and with an extra pay check coming my way in august i'm thinking its about time to do it.
Heres my questions. I bought the car with smaller diameter than stock but wider than stock tires on it and thats what i replaced them with as well when i bought the car. They are a little more expensive then the standard stock tire. Is there any reason that i should keep the non stock tire size? I kind of like the wide look but other than that i can't think of any reason not to go back to the taller and narrower stock tire... whats your opinion? I don't know much about tires if they aren't for mudding or big trucks... :(

With your mods, go back to stock. There'* no reason to pay a premium for wider tires.
Don't sacrifice performance for 'generic tread'. Get directional tread. I suggest Toyo Proxes TPT'*. I've been running them on the Zilla for 3 years.
I'll PROBABLY go with 235'* next year, but you don't have my traction problems.

To be honest with you, I really liked the look of those wider tires when we met at the Michigan meet. 
If it were me, I would probably pay the extra money and get the look I want. I imagine that there isn't much of a difference that would be noticed in gas mileage, but here again, I would be happy to pay a little more to get the look I wanted.
As long as it is not causing any other problems, I would stay with that size if that is what YOU like.

well, I didn't realize it was a difference of $100. even still though, I would pay that much if the extra money was not a really big deal.
as far as you mileage goes, I could be wrong, but it doesn't really seem to me that just a little bit smaller tire would make that much of a difference

Couldn't tell ya if it will or not... I went with bigger tires on my jeep and murdered the mileage. but this is a car and the gearing is different... to confusing for me to figure out. we'll see how the cash looks like when august rolls around but i'll probably save the $100 and go stock if there isn't some other reason to keep them besides cool looks.

yea, when you start running heavy oversized off-road tires ( on 4x4s.... not cars lol ) that will kill mileage, but then again, you are usually more concerned about traction and looks then mileage.
I would think that there aren't really any other benefits to the wider tires besides the look, so if that isn't really important, that $100 could be used elsewhere I am sure.

Get Falken ZE512'*, they're directional and have excellent grip, I paid 400 dollars for stock size (225/60/16)

Shorter diameter tires will hurt mileage, and you have a little extra rolling resistance than a stock width tire. You're also racking up more mileage on the ODO and reading higher on the speedo than you're actually doing.
