Actually you should probably drive it easy for probably a few hundred miles to make sure it breaks back in properly.
This is sound advice, you need to break the motor in not break it.
Flush the oil and change the filter in the first 500 miles. Keep a close eye on temps and oil presure for the first 500 miles.

Guys, I didn't rebuild my engine.. no need to break anything in. But yeah, I won't beat the **** out of the car before she reaches temp. And she'* been running for three weeks now.. just not driveable.. been having some problems.

Actually lowrider, she did die. Took her out 7 months ago, was coming home from the ladyfriend'* house, and the tranny took a dump. Got towed home, and hasn't been driven since.

Oh yeah, btw.. she went around the block today . She runs good 75% of the time, then the other 25 she runs like ****. I'm thinking vacuum leak.. but i'll check that later. I only went 40mph, so I didn't really do much of any testing. However I noticed when the car got hot, then the tstat opened, temp dropped. Oil pressure good the whole time. Transmission felt GREAT. Car shifted smoothly, everything seemed fine. I'm very proud of her.. but there is still some work to be done. My guess is one of the vacuum lines popped off, or something. But all-in-all, I am very happy with the results. And for those anal bastards, I didn't even come close to WOT.. just a nice stroll around the block, is all I did. Although the temptation was pretty great.

Put fluid in it. Haven't flushed it yet, haven't even changed the damn filter either. Just threw in 6 quarts of high mileage ATF [not used, new.. designed for older cars, etc..], and hoped for the best. It'* amazing how much smoother she shifts. Reverse isn't a shake the **** outta ya shift, but a much smoother shift, although it'* a little slow to engage [in all gears], but that could be due to a little bit low of ATF, or that it needs a flushing and filter change.
