Resonator VS Catalytic convertor
Curious as to what the main differences are. My exhaust shop said i should get one instead of a new convertor, will help lower my exhaust volume from my flow master a bit and for 80 cdn installed, why the hell not? Remember there are NO emmsions testing done in Alberta..EVER.

You can't compare a cat to a resonator...apples and oranges.
I was just reading yesterday about resonators....they don't absorb sound like mufflers. Instead they "reflect" it back to the engine.

Well, any more opinions? Tomorrow afternoon its still lined up to be installed, unless someone really has hard evidence that this will
A.Make my exhaust sound bad
B.Do something negative to my car..

if you have heard the sound clips, they are not correct with a resonator. I have 2.5 pipe to the muffler, 2.25 tails with factory tips, flowmaster 80 series and a 24" resonator in place of the cat. It still sounds alright, but not what I was expecting compared to the clips. Not as much v8 sound to it. Have the shop install the muffler and then let you listen to the sound before they install the resonator. I found it too loud, but it had quite a nice v8/ classic flowmaster sound before I got the resonator installed.

resonator installed, 70 bucks good deal, sounds excellent, it evened out the exhaust sound.
Did not fix my miss under load. I don't have enough time right now to look at it myself, i took it to Certigaurd, they will get it in today and call me hopefully.
Ugh. Atleast tomorrow is pay day.
