lol, random bonneville/bullrun dream
so, i thought i should share my recent bonneville dream. last night, i watched the 8th episode of Speed Network'* Bullrun and went to sleep after it. well, i had this random dream that i had the bonneville (r.i.p) and was competing against these $40,000+ cars and actually won the rally. I then woke up and couldn't sleep because my mind was so busy thinking about it. To me, a car like the bonneville (preferrably an ssei) would be perfect for that competition because of its balance of comfort, power, and handling ability. For the long miles of driving, the spacious cabin and amenities would pass the time in style yet the supercharged engine would deliver necessary power and fuel efficiency compared to v8'* and the higher stance than the grand prix and fwd powertrain would be good for the elimination competitions by delivering strong suspension and traction performance for all situations and weather conditions. does anybody agree or disagree? i really wish i had my bonneville and an extra $20,000 to do the competition cause i could kick some *** with my pontiac and maybe even be an inspiration for people to buy pontiac over foreign sports cars.

That would be cool. Over the last two years I have put over 20,000 miles on my GXP roundtripping from here to Cincinnati where my other house was. 660 miles each way. The comfort of the car was proven out many times over these 10-12 hours trips. Set the cruise on 75, auto airconditioning at 70 and glide.

I have been watching Bullrun too, and I totally agree that the Bonnie would be a great car. Maybe not THE best, but it would definitely hold it'* own.

I'd do the GM 6T75E AWD conversion with the Ford 6F55 LSD, a custom carbon driveshaft, and an IRS rear end first. Then you get a luxury sedan with a generally high stance, a supercharged engine, lots of interior comfort, and all wheel drive.
