Glove Compartment Lock replacment?
Check it out here'* my deal. Some ****!@& broke my handle/locking unit while looking for an ownersmanual. I wont stay shut or lock so I am sure I just need a new locking unit. The question is should I get one from a junk yard? will my key work if I do? or try to get 1 from GM or some other place Will my key work and how much would it cost? Any insight to my dilema would be greatly appreciated.

my recomendation here is to check a junk yard, make sure that junk yard car has the hey though, as long as it comes from a Bonneville 1992-1999 ( i think) it should work, make sure you carefully compare the locks though, id aim for somthing out of your year. Should be a fairly straight forward procedure too.

The old lock cylinder (if salvageable) can be transfered into the new handle!
Best advice? Go to the wrecker, get the whole door, then swap over your existing lock cylinder.
