Default RPO code questions

i spent the last half hour or so looking at every code in my listing and learned a few things, but ended up with more new questions. i do have the 3.06 transmission though, which i am happy about!

UW6 - speaker system,6,dual F/D tweet & WWF,dual EXT

does this mean i have the bose system or not? i havent had time to look for the amp...

Y98 - control, ride system electronic

i have the inflator controls in the trunk, but i am not sure if the ride leveling works (or if i even have it). how do i tell?

1SA - package, option 01

uhh... what?

6KJ - component front LH, computer sel susp
7KJ - component front RH, computer sel susp
8BG - component RR LH, computer sel susp
9BG - component RR RH, computer sel susp

what do these mean?

thanks!

I have this RPO on my 2000 SSEi which has Bose...
U80 - SPEAKER SYSTEM 8, DUAL F/D MIR PATCH TWT, DUAL F/D WOOFER, DUAL R/D MTD, DUAL SUBWOOF PKG SHLF, AMP TRUNK, BOSE
I'm guessing since your'* doesn't say Bose that it wouldn't be. But if you find the amp then I guess that would change that idea...

Amp would be mounted in the dash, below the HU (but not visible without removing the trim panel). I didn't think the "BOSE" system was offered until '96 or later. If Bose wasn't part of the '95 and earlier, you still may find an amp below the HU, but if so you would have a sliding "gain" control **** below the HU that would protrude through the dash trim.

On the 1SA, I beleive that is a "package" code that would have given you several options together as a package. You will still find the RPO codes for each of those items included in the "package" in addition to the 1SD.

IIRC, the 6KJ, 7KJ, 8BG, and 9BG just indicate that your suspension components were selected/matched by a computer during build...nothing that didn't happen with all Bonnies, and really doesn't mean much.

As for the Y98, I am not exactly sure which option this is indicating. Do you have "PERFORM RIDE" and "TOURING RIDE" bottons next to your shift lever on the console? If yes, than it is referring to that feature. If not, then you probably do have the electronic leveling (which you probably do if you have an inflator in the trunk.

One test to see if it is working is to load something heavy in the trunk and start the car. If you hear a compressor kick on (either located in the engine bay underneath your airbox or at the passenger side rear of the car mounted behind the rear wheelwell, then that would be the system trying to inflate the rear struts to level the back end.
