Just got off the INTENSE website...
...ordered myself a 3250 stall torque converter. I haven't been driving Big Bad for a while, because the last time I drove it, it developed a nasty loud whine from the bell-housing...TC=toast. Haven't been able to afford to fix it till now. Still gonna be way too tight, but I can absorb it now.
Anyway, I'll be taking it up to INTENSE this weekend to drop it off. I'll call Todd on Monday to work out the details, but the TC is definitely getting replaced. I'll ask for a teardown to check the fourth clutch shaft and input shaft, and I may replace both. Shift kit is also a possibilty, if there'* nothing else wrong with the trans. Also gonna get my self a PCM, now that HPTuners finally got off their butts and cracked the PA.
I also need to figure out with pulley is rattling and see about replacing that.
Further plans for this winter are a Bonneville hockey-puck front mount, and maybe new mounts elsewhere. Looking for a good hood-scoop to make functional. Have my eye on a Dodge Ram Daytona hood, that looks like the right contour, and could be welded in to a spare hood, if I can find one. Got a really cool idea in mind for a paint job for it...
Updates later...

You sure it'* not the input shaft?
Both my 99 SSEi transmissions that went out had a loud whining from the bellhousing and both times I ended up with no power to the wheels. Trans removed and found input shafts snapped on both.
You best get the hardened input shaft and shift kit, and if you can still afford it spring for the 3250 stall convertor.
My $.02, FWIW.

My input clutches were toast, 2nd and 3rd were close behind. i posted some pictures here when i had the trans done in my 98.
The 4th shaft was almost smooth.

I don't think it'* the input shaft. Still had good power for the couple miles it took to get home. It didn't leave me standing, and the whining noise was the only indication of any problem. There was a hard shift earlier in the day, but it didn't seem to have hurt anything. Like I said, I'll ask to have Tim do a partial teardown to check the internals. If he finds something else wrong, I'll have him fix it.
Also, I don't remember, and can't find the paperwork, but I think the fourth clutch shaft may have gotten replaced when I had the trans rebuilt at INTENSE about two years ago.

I got my Bonne back home with all the goodies listed in my sig 1 week ago. I got exited and let the trans (stock trans with 173k) hit the 1-2 shift 3 times in that first night and now my TC is screwed. Whines pretty good when the trans is warmed up, the shifts then hit like I have the shift kit from hell. I saw the sale and thought about it but I don't think I want a 3250 for mostly street driving. 2750 or maybe a 3000 but I need to address my trans situation as well.

I only drive the thing twice a week, and a little bit of errands on weekends, so it won't hurt me any to go that aggressive, and I hate to admit it, but I am a bit of a stoplight racer at times...
Anyway, Todd and I had talked about doing it before, and this was the one he reccomended for streetability.
