changing serpentine belt in 1995 SE
Well I changed the belt out today after reading a bunch of posts on how to do it on 96-99 cars. It was actually simpler on the 95. No plastic molding in the wheel well to remove. I did find it was easier to do with wheel removed so I could gte more leverage, but it could have been done without. Regardless I would have had to lift the car because i needed to get directly under the lower spacer to get the right amount of leverage.
Here is the way I did it. It took me about 20 or 30 minutes total:
turned wheels all the way to the righgt then jacked car up and removed wheeI
I then removed the nut on the spacer bolt
Removed the bolt and spacer from the lower motor mount (near compressor)
Removed belt through this opening and put new belt on
For anybody who is going to do this here is the tool list:
18mm socket (1/2" drive is best) to remove nut on lower motor mount spacer
T50 torx socket or 8 mm socket for bolt. I used the 8 mm socket with a 1/4" drive so I didn't overtorque it and strip the bolt. I didn't need much force, but I would have bought the torx socket if I needed to.
15mm socket (1/2" drive) to move tensioner
