No tire squal? Clairvoiant?
I don't know if it'* dirty streets, old tires, or both, but I get no tire squel when I punch it. I can definatly feel them spinning, but not much sound. My Pilot Sport A/* tires are 35000 miles old, don't look bald, but obviously not like they used to be. Anyone else experience this?

mmm if you can hear them spinning but no noise its either A) You're flat out out-powering them; B) They're bald as hell; C) Both. I'm no expert but I believe the noise is from the tires grabbing-losing traction very fast. Thats why you'll never hear a dragster 'squeal' just *VRRRRR* with smoke. Just a thought though...

THe squeel if from the vibrations of the tread on the tire. It is engineered into the tire to "warn" people of when the tire is near its maxium coefficient of friction. (about to start sliding)
We had the michelins too. What I noticed is that when the tires got low on tread, the began to squeel less and less. This makes sense because the squeel sound is made from the vibrations in the rubber. With only a small amount of tread there is not much rubber to vibrate and make the squeeling noise. Also from my expierence, the michelin rubber sucks and is really hard. SO they just spin like a mother trucker anyway.
Our replacement tires are BFG T/A H'* They are one NICE tire. Much better then I ever remember the Michelins.

I spin the tires on my Calais everyday numerous times a day (almost never on purpose, with the combination of the roads being crappy, me trying to accelerate into traffic, my crappy tires, and a 5 speed, it just happens), but they never make a noise, the tach just flies up alot faster than it should and I know its time to let off. The tires in the SSEi are the same way. But I think its mostly the roads, however I do recall my STE always making noise on these roads whereas my Calais does not so I don't know, maybe its just the dirt/salt on the roads from the winter.

A lot of it'* road and tire temp...I noticed this year that the colder it is the less they squeel if at all....But the warmer it is the more they squeel and the louder they squeel...Usually the less tread a tire has, the higher pitched the squeel will be where as a brand new tire will soulnd really deep and beefy....In wet situations the tires won't squeel much if at all because of the surface being slick and the tread can't get those vibrations....Pretty much the same thing with sand...The colder the temp the easier it is to spin the tires too because the tire compund freezes and the tread get'* soo hard that there'* no flex in it.
Those are my theories.....lol

I don't seem to have this problem at all.. perhaps because my car doesn't make enough power to do this? One time I was able to do a peg leg for a while.. it was loud as hell. That'* with new tires.. these are really shitty ones.. Kuhmo something..
