General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Also, you've been asked multiple times, what engine. That will help a lot in diagnosing the problem. You either have the 3.4L V6 or the 2.4L Twin Cam 4cyl.

What kind of gas mileage are you getting? If you're not sure, fill your tank, reset your trip odometer, and when you get to about 1/4 of a tank, fill up, note the amount of gas (in gal) and the amount of miles you drove. Divide the miles by the number of gallons it took to fill up.

I also have to ask about the actual fuel mileage figure.

Keep in mind too, that you live such a short distance from work, and could be short tripping the car. I lived '10 minutes' away (3.2 miles, 7-10 minutes depending on traffic/lights) and the car would be barely getting up to operating temp as I was pulling in, not even counting time spent at stop lights, or light to light fisticuffs that had to be sorted out. Not even counting how much the car hated it.

I moved out to the country, and average just shy of 11 miles each way now, with over half on the highway. Fuel mileage was a lot better, as well as vehicle behavior. Not on par, but I am working a laundry list to get that corrected.
