Intake maifold gasket class action!
Here'* an interesting link to a major story in Canada on the dreaded intake manifold gasket problem so many of us are having. Maybe the club could get involved in the petitions and class actions! Make GM pay!

Well, I know that this has been brought up a few times here before, but some specifics from this article, I want to point out.
- The article is really about the LIM gaskets, which they show a picture of and we know continued to exist until at least 2005, when we now know GM released the improved aluminum framed gaskets now sold at dealers.
- Then they quote a GM Service Bulletin that is obviously talking about the UIM manifold failure. Different issue, similar result. Someone got their research mixed up. Doesn't help the case IMO.
- Note that they list the vehicles potentially affected:
1995-1998/2000-2003 Pontiac Bonneville
1997-1998/2000-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix
Why no 1999?
Just a few thoughts....

Further on this, I personally believe that GM should have stepped up on this issue years ago. I doubt it will ever happen though and the formal spokesperson'* statement strengthens that belief.

I've proven that article wrong in two of my own cases.
I strongly urge any 2004 and older GM vehicle owner to change the intake gaskets as part of a preventitive schedule.

My LIM gaskets were trashed, but I dunno how old they were or anything like that. As far as I'm concerned they had 209K on them, because that'* the mileage when I changed them out.
