Lovely car.

Its a 1990 SE. 1 owner mileage, very well taken care of, know the previous owners personally.

Anyways, what can I do to the engine to get a bit more out of it? Obviously the 3800.

Any resource sites pertaining to the 3800 strictly?

Thanks

Congratz on your purchase.

I myself own a 91 SSE (and a 97SSEi).

Sad to say there isn't much performance mods you can do the 87-91 3800s.

Best thing you can do right now is have a full tuneup done... plugs, wires, tranny flush... oil change.. etc etc
Also get a K&N air filter.... that will help a lot.

You should also have your car "scanned" for any codes.... and repair those.
After that you should be set.

Oh, one other mod you might wanna do is exhaust...

the guy who owned it before me took extremely well care of it. He builds custom rods, and it was his wife'* car.

All I can do is add a different air filter I guess.

Thanks. Also, where can I get some headlight covers?

jcwhitney might help you with the covers. you could always have a custom turbo fitted to your car. do one major performance mod then be done with it.

Should he go with headers, or just a hi flow exhaust of some sort?

No company, but a custom job is possible.

You can do anything. A lot of L27 stuff will bolt right up to that motor, and you're just as open to mods as anyone. You may have to do some more work, and not be able to buy as much, but get the easy stuff going now, before you dig into her, and see where you're at.
