Something stupid and funny in a way
I went to some shop yestrday and asked them to fix a licking problem on power steering it was little pulley cost you about 10 bucks to buy it. Then i told the guy please change the belt too i didnt want to do it my self didnt have time. He said it is going to be around 80 bucks to do that. I said ok np and left my car there. I coming to pick the car around 4pm and he said everything is fine no more licking. On the register he is giving me the bill on 140 dollars. I was in shock i was like what the hell. He is like the belt cost me 55 dollars in NAPA. I was like you crazy or something the belt cost around 20-30 dollars the most. He is like no no here is the part number. He even said that he worked around hour and 20 minute on my car for those two little things. I was loughfing at him. Ok i paid and went to NAPA asked about belt for 94 bonneville. The price came up to 30 dollars. I got the Quoet and went back to him he wasnt there. I am going tomorrow again. What do you guys think what should i do? Should i go to city hall and ask for business burrecracy and inspection. This guys knows me for a while i brougt around 20 customers to him and he still wanted to still my money. He knows that i am foreign but it doesnt mean i am stupid. I learned English in 2 years, it would take him probably 10 to learn my language. If i am foreign why is everyone picking on us. I am american too god danm it. What should i tell him when i go back tomorrow. Thanks guys.

Shops always charge more for the part than what you pay over the counter. Their markup is higher. Also, they have to pay to have NAPA deliver it. I'm not completely surprised.
One of the problems is that you agreed to pay $80 for the belt change before it was done. Now you are responsible to pay that cost. That makes the power steering cost around $60, not too bad.
