Default Ignition Wire Heat Shields

How do you remove them? I ran a search, but there'* nothing that specifically pertains to the removal of these shields. They're on the back plug boots well hidden from view. :?

What would happen if I was to yank on the boot and the shield at the same time?

They might come off as one and you might break the wire.

It'* a 50/50 chance. Grab the boot and twist, to break the seal, then remove them.

OK. . . so is the shield attached to the boot or the spark plug itself?

Neither, Mac. The shield slides over the boot to protect it from the heat. The spark plug end of it is smaller than the other end, so you can not slide it up and off.
