Oh, yeah, by the way:

I hope so, but jeez, you'd think he'd be a teensy bit more interested in making time to get his money and get the car. If he didn't give you a deposit, sell it to the next guy who does; don't wait around based only on this kid'* say-so.

Thanks for all of the help that you guys have given me with my car and all of the modifications that you have showed me. I'm looking for a newer bonnie, grand prix, or perhaps an Aurora. Let me know what you think about all this.
If you get an Aurora, I can point you at the Olds Owners' Email List...

Now I'm pissed. The guy that was going to buy it just called. He said that he won't be able to make it down tonight and might not be able to for the next couple of nights. He also said that he is going to take the chance that it might sell too. What a loser.

Hot damn, $3k? Dude, holy **** that'* incredible. I can buy a '99 for $3k. Granted it is an SE, and is fairly base.. but that is, holy **** that'* a lot.

Vital is right, get a deposit. They'll want that car if they put down 10%. That also shows they are serious.

I bought my 93' 88 in 2003 for $3200 w/ 96K and great exterior condition, slow. I got my 97 LSS */C for $5200 w/ 107K and a sh*^y paintjob, yet fast. I think if you have a 3.06 ratio you're being more than resonable. $3K is a good price.

I'm praying for mine, then. (No, I'm not really selling!)

I think what happened is that the kid can't get the financing. Your example of a '92 might in fact be worth $3K, but the kid'* bank is only going to go by book value for an average '92, and they won't lend him that much, regardless of whether Mom'* going to co-sign for him. (I once sold a 17-year-old Regal to a guy who financed it for $1100. I had to go out with him to the local finance company so they could eyeball the car before approving the deal. Fortunately it all went fine.)

You'll find a buyer sooner or later, but this is not the kind of car for somebody who needs a loan just to buy it; it'll be dead from postponed repairs within a year. I know you won't care about that since you'll have sold it, but the prospective buyer may have some friend talk him out of the deal using reasoning like that...
