Don't buy the 9135 as your only tool. It ONLY reads codes. No realtime scan.

Actron 9145 is probably the most economical scantool for the money.

Digimoto and Autotap are probably the best two laptop based scanners. But there are others.

HpTuners www.hptuners.com has the best scanner I have ever seen. And the plus side is you get to modify your pcm if you have a supported vehicle type (thought the scanner works for all obd-2 cars).

Similar to John'* scantool, I just bought an AutoXray EZ Scan 4000. Haven't even received it yet, but I hope it will do everything.

Since you have a 1999 GTP, check out www.ls1m.com. It includes the Palm IIIxe, and I'm thinking I should have ordered one instead of my AutoXray. We'll find out when it comes in the mail!
