Default Want to see your Bonnie in print?

Howdy everybody! It'* your enigmatic site owner here.

A few days ago, I got an email from an editor of "Hemmings Muscle Machines" requesting photos of Bonnevilles worthy of print. It looks like he'* interested in both classic and modern, provided that they are clean and either original or tastefully modified to be significantly faster than stock. I am attaching the email in its entirety below.

If you have what he'* looking for, get in contact with him! If you do, mention BonnevilleClub.

Thanks!

Jeff

---- The email ----
Hi:

My name is Jeff Koch, and I am a California-based writer for Hemmings Publishing, including the brand-new glossy magazine Hemmings Muscle Machines. If you haven't seen it, HMM is a musclecar magazine that covers all factory (and some aftermarket) performance cars from 1949 to present, with an emphasis on the little-seen and under-appreciated marques and models. We like to shine a light in some of the lesser-discussed corners of American automotive performance history. Thus far, we have had excellent response from readers who are tired of seeing the same-old same-old, and HMM certainly is NOT the same-old!

HMM'* editor, Richard Lentinello, has sent me on a mission: he wants a factory-fresh (restored or unrestored, no matter as long as it'* clean) original Bonneville in the pages of that magazine, and sooner rather than later. We'd love early ones with fuel injection and fins as well as some of the later FWD supercharged animals. We're also looking for tastefully-modified vehicles--anyone know of an 11-second stealth-bomber '72?

This is an open invitation to send me a couple of jpegs (exterior and engine are all I really need) and a brief list of what makes this particular car special and worthy of inclusion. Can you possibly connect me with the owners of clean, original Bonnies of ANY stripe, who might be interested in seeing their car in a nationally published magazine? I'd love to communicate with them. Assuming they don't live in the snow belt I can pop around to take my own shots. (Southern California is easiest for me--and simply for geography'* sake stands the best chance of getting my attention, though our main office is in Vermont and anything in the New England/upstate New York area could be of interest too.) Assuming they don't live in the snow belt I can pop around to take my own shots, I just need some quickie jpegs and a couple of words about how long they've owned it, how original it is, any performance parts added, etc. Tubbed and scooped drag-race cars need not apply, tons of chrome plating/polishing and yellow-painted underhood components aren't what we're after either. We want original, and failing that we want a combination of (significantly) faster than stock and tastefully done.

Any story we do will of course give your site, and any others the car owner feels is helpful to a Bonneville fan, a plug in the magazine. If you could, please post this on your site somewhere you think the most people will read it, or else forward my email address: jkoch@hemmings.com, to any interested parties, who may contact me at their leisure. This is an open invitation to send me a couple of jpegs (exterior and engine are all I really need) and a brief list of what makes this particular car special and worthy of inclusion.

I thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Sincerely.

Jeff Koch

If I was 'significantly' faster than stock I'd do it

Sounds like fun. Unfortunately I live in the snowbelt...is that some sort of discrimination ??...and my car is a boring beige color. It'* unbelievably clean though...oh well, sigh.

I hope he writes magazine articles better than he writes e-mails though. I could write more better than that with one brain tied behind my back....course I live in the snow belt, so maybe I'm just jealous. :o

I can think of some other people who should be sending emails in. Don't make me hunt you down.
