I know that everyone will be partial to this but here goes.
I've found a great deal on a 2000 sle at a car lot. It is black
with moonroof ,factory chrome rims,leather, cd ,traction control,
like new tires, and drives beautifully. Carfax came back cleanand
is only $8995.! The problem that I have is that it was a lease
vehicle and has 86k on the clock. I don't need a car now, my '93
is still chugging away, but this sle is everything that I want
except no supercharger. PLEASE ADVISE!!!!

The mileage is a bit much for a 2000 model, no? Typically, aren't off-lease cars lower mileage?

I have over 100K on my car and have had no major issues to date. I did replace the front wheel bearings at 80k to correct a bit of wheel shudder.
That is a good price for a 2000 even at those miles, but as you said you dont really need a car right now and want a SC so why not wait a bit longer?

An SLE would have been leased by a non-thrasher. I think if you looked it over carefully for evidence of hard driving, and found none, you'd be ok. These things are tough as snot. For the right price (and you haven't negotiated yet), the mileage wouldn't bug me much.

yea I agree with Will, miles are only considered to me if the cars in bad shape, bonnies are pretty good cars I've know people to purchase them well over 100k on the odometer an these are usually pre 95'*! If the cars in good shape and U got some spend'n money I'd say jump on it, cause Mista thinks it'* a players deal under 10k, SE'* are what'* selling for that price here in Indiana right now. Sle'* usually go for around 13k and up even 00'*

insurance will go up a bit... i live in a place where its really bad... I can afford (somewhat) 2 new trucks but the insurance is what kills me.. but being new I gotta put full coverage.. put it this way I had to uninsure the camaro... oh well doesnt move anyway... now im mumbling on... but the insurance could brake you...

Insurance might surprise you. There were more standard safety features from 00 and up. Which means more discounts. Then there'* a multiple-car discount, and the fact that it'* not SC.

I know when I traded my 93 K1500 4x4 in for a 98 Z71, my insurance barely changed, as the 98 had more safety features (4 wheel ABS as opposed to 2-wheel, and it had a Driver'* and passenger airbag, where the 93 didn't have either.) Purchase price was hugely different, but the actual insurance only went up 5 or 10 bucks a month.

(BTW......I lowered all my deductibles on the 98, too)

That sounds like a STEAL to me. I would definately jump for it if it is in good shape. Those kind of miles are nothing for these cars. Our SSEi has 93,700 miles on it and it still runs and drives like brand new, and we haven't had any major problems at all. (The only problems we have had at all is a leaking intake manifold gasket, and the 2 rear windows not staying up) Even with it being modded most of its life, the engine still runs good, and the tranny seems to still be in good shape. That being an SLE would mean the engine and tranny wouldn't have the stress of the supercharger and would probably be in even better shape. That car sounds very nice, and sounds like a steal. I would definately go for it if I were you and I had the $$$. Insurance will probably go up, but not huge amounts.

We have one of those, but with 6 cars and 3 teenage drivers it isn't cheap by any means.
