Default I hate salt!

Well yet something else wrong with the car, I blame it on salt.

I was told today that the car is getting louder, I did notice the last time I drove it that I did hear a bit of noise but thought it was the donut that was installed when I put the new engine in, even though it was new. So tonight I started the car when I was over there and let it idle down, got down in the snow and had a peek with a flashlight. It looks like the joint just after the cat is cracked. I am glad it is not in front of the cat cause it would be really loud.

So off to get it fixed this upcoming week I hope. It salt I tell ya, it has nothing to do with the fact it is 15 years old and has over 202,000 kms on it.lol.

A new cat was installed when I put the car on the road 2 years ago, but we left the rest of the exhaust alone since it was in good shape.

This is more of a general Bonneville rant and not a year specific one so I put it in general, lol.

Even behind the cat, it'* very very very loud. I had that happen, albeit the pipe split and actually was hanging down just.

The trick was to do a jackrabbit start, go to 3000+rpm, and coast along, for the resonance at 2000rpm was completely unbearable. A Toyota Celica and a Dodge Stealth tried to race us though... no response, we just laughed.

Luckily the majority of places down here they have switched over to liquid calcium instead of salt.

Its aggrivating how they put down so much salt on the roads that as trucks are driving they kick it up in the air. Then all of that gets fed into my really bad rust buildup behind the wheels under the car. >:( No frikin wonder why in one year the metal turned to dust.
