Default Oil in intake!

Today I put in a K&N filter and when I took the air box out I noticed the smell of oil inside it. I grabbed a flashlight to look into the tube going to the throttle body and noticed a little oil in the groves. Then when I looked at the MAF screen it had a brown discoloration on the left side. How could oil get in the intake?

PCV system most likely. Clean the TB and inspect the PCV valve.

Sounds like a plan. I was wondering why there is a smell of oil under the hood and no oil on the ground.

Is it oil from the K&N Filter? Or Oil from the crankcase?

K&N Oil is red/pink. GM has a TSB on oil from aftermarket filters, getting onto MAF'*.

A q-tip will help you with the MAF sensor. Make sure you get it cleaned up.

I noticed the oil ( definitly engine oil ) before I installed the K&N filter. But I know what you mean they drench those filters in that pink oil you're talking about.

Its still there! How the heck does engine oil get inside of the intake tube just before the throttle body!? It reeks of oil in that air box too.

Bad TB gasket?
Ahh.. I didn't know there was such a thing. I'm thinking you hit the nail on the head. That would explain the blue smoke when I floor it because the throttle opens all the way up, hence enhailing oil. My only question is, wouldn't that kill my performace?
