If you have a brand name on it, hit up their website
My car doesn't have a block heater, BTW, and I have never had a problem with getting her started

You are aware that the US cars didn't come with factory installed block heaters right? I'm not sure that the Canadian models did...but it would make sense...

block heater
Block heaters attach where the frost plugs are located: in the block on the firewall side of the motor (that is where Canadian Bonnevilles have their block heaters installed by the factory) or on the front of the engine in both cases below the exhaust manifolds and above where the oil pan attaches; in the middle of the engine. A frost plug is removed and a block heater is installed in its place.
The rear connection is difficult to get to if indeed a block heater is installed there in your case.
I would guess that car retailers from the northern states would offer a block heater as an option.

From having my Bonnie in Anchorage, AK all winter and even with temps dipping below -20°F, she ALWAYS started
The plug should be a 3-prong style. You do want it grounded for obvious reasons
