How does this deal look? an 05 with 57,000 mi for $15,900

That certainly does seem like a great deal. Be sure to get a carfax from them (they should give you one for free if it is from a dealer) and check out the value on www.kbb.com and/or www.nada.com .

I'm sorry to see you give up your SSEi for that, should it happen to work out like you want it, but it seems like more than a fair deal. That red color is one of my favorites for that body style, so I hope you get the car. Seems like it would be a lot of fun to drive!

Well, thanks to singscountry, I went to kbb.com and read consumer reviews. Many said they had intake and window troubles, steering troubles were also common.
I might not buy one. Maybe a CTS, I can get a CTS with 63000 mi for the same price.....
I don't know, I am confused.....I think I am done looking for a while.. I will keep my 98 until I am guided to the right car. I think I am trying too hard.
It seems finding the right car is like finding the right woman..
When you are looking to find the right woman to be with, they never appear. It'* when you're not looking is when the right one comes along..

LOL! Well, I supposed you are right...and certainly the same can be said for finding the right man.
Here'* the key to finding the right car (or woman/man)....know what you want.
Make a list of the "must haves"... "would like to haves"....and "not importants". There are certain features that should not be willing to compromise on. (safety / loyalty). There are other features that you shold be willing to settle for (luxury options, dress size)
Once you know what it is you are looking for...it is far easier to weed out the ones that you won't be happy with...regardless if it is a car, woman or man.

SO.....does this mean the Bonneville is a worthless piece of crap that people should avoid buying? I always take reviews with a grain of salt. You have to take into account how little many of these people know about cars (as evident by their incorrect terminology for replaced parts/work done), how well was the car maintained, what condition was it in when they bought it, etc. No car is immune to some common problems. For example, there aren't too many newer GMs that elude the intake gasket dilemma (certainly not the 3800), be it a flaw in the materials they used, or Dexcool destroying them. It comes with the territory, so don't write the GXP off just yet.
"I bought this car brand new in 1994. the first year the computer chip went out twice, after that no problem. The handling has been great, nice touring car for trips around the country. It'* been a great car up until 2 years ago, then everything started falling apart. Power moon roof switch, power door lock,interior lights,engine starter,alternator,crankcase sensor, and last week the engine through a rod, all that and it only has 115,000 miles!!
