Right from Bill Wrens time line

1994
Bonneville SE, SSE
There were no major changes to the SE or SSE model in 1994.
The body and drivetrain remained the same as 1993.

Engine electronics were OBD I compliant.

The standard engine offered in the 1994 SE and SSE was a 3800 MFI Series I.

It developed 170hp @ 4800rpm and 205ft/lbs @ 3200rpm. It was marked

“3800 Tuned Port Injection” on the engine cover. This engine was known

as the GM L27 engine. The L67 Supercharged engine was optional on both models.

The transaxle remained the 4T60E, carried over from 1993 unchanged for the NA SSE and SE.

Exhaust on the SE included factory headers, a single exhuast with a catalytic converter, and single inlet with dual outlets on the muffler coming out the passenger side. There were 2 heated O2 sensors, and no resonator. This model used no EGR valve. The SSE used the same exhaust as the SE, with the exception of the dual muffler outlets coming out on either side of the rear of the car, and had an electronic EGR valve.

engine was optional on the SE and SSE models.

The transaxle remained the 4T60E-HD, carried over from 1993 unchanged for the SSEi

and SC versions of the SSE and SE.

You need the heavy-duty version of the 4T60E, or the 4T60E-HD.
