Default chevy *-10 gmc sonoma frame break?

i have a 99 gmc sonoma that has a frame split behind the front drivers lower control arm. i have heard this is an issue but will not cause any damage. working in a shop i have seen 4 consecutive others as well with the same problem. any ideas????

Any chance you can get pics?

Any cracks in the frame is a sign of failure and is probably hiding some other issue. Only way to fully inspect a frame is to take everything off of it, strip it down and bore scope the inside of it.

frame wouldnt just crack without either being rusted enough to be soft or too much stress for an area that wasent designed for it
