i dont mean to point fingers, but this should be addressed

Cosmetic Condition: It'* an 11 year old car. Its got a few dings and scratches. Drivers seat shows wear on the left bolster. Everything except the power antenna works. AC is cold. All power stuff in good working order. Seats work great. Traction control and ABS work fine. Car'* got plenty of power with the mods. I got to dyno the car at school last summer and turned 204 at the wheels with the "going-bad-at-the-time" catalytic converter still on.

those are not just dings and scratches!

DJ SHO should have addressed the rust problem, granted VigCS should have seen this before he paid for it in person...

its not cool to see members of this status burning eachother

I will come out and say it, I have been shocked by the way some people have been acting on here. I'm not gonna say what i think should be done, because that is up to the admins. I do think that a clear faq with all the rules of bonneville club should be posted in the notice section, and that be used a your first warning. Get in trouble again, 2nd, and on the 3rd your out/in trouble.

I asked him in a PM about rust, he said there was a little surface rust...that rust is NOT surface. Wait till i get pics of the rear door jams...body shop estimated a $3300 repair, but I'm hoping to make some of the money back by parting this thing.

Also - the stereo system was completely shot. Both subs had tears in them...the headunit and wiring was about all that was good.

I agree. I've been burned before myself. But it was also my fault. Bought a 13 year old FWD Chrysler. Felt bad making the good looking 19 yr. old woman come all the way down to my place from St. Cloud. So, I bought the car- $900, transmission fail- $2200, brake sys fail- $750. Lesson learned. This sounds like damn near the same situation.

BTW- she said the tranny was new. Vigs, I feel you're pain.

Clearly an enthusiast would know EXACTLY what the condition is of their car. 100% inexusable in my book to pass a vehicle off as something it is not.

Well said, that is not only a (thinks of word I would say in front of my mom) nasty thing to do to someone but it speaks volumes for someones character. But I don't want to make this personal and it sounds like Andrew is aiming at a larger picture with the same idea and how this should not be tolerated around here. And I agree if you can't honestly sell or trade something that is wanted around here, maybe the place to pull that is the little used car lot down the street know one has heard of.

I flushed it just for the simple fact of it was a good mileage area to
do it, and I know for a fact the previous owner didn't. Plus, at the
time I had seen an ad for tranny flushes at a nearby shop for only 35
bucks. So I said why not. I didn't want to wait too much longer in
mileage to do it either as that can actually do worse than good for your
tranny.

Shifts are all firm, quick, and no slipping at all. No slams into gears.
IT runs like a normal 4T60-E. I've seen some Ford ATX'* die early in the
past with some serious slipping and acting up right before they decide
to pass on. This is my first GM with a 4T60-E and I am very pleased with
it.

Don't know the real boost pressure. All I know is it pegs the gauge
easily. Taking a guess, I'd say 11 lbs max. Stock is between 8 and 9
lbs.

The SPL 12'* are sealed and sound awesome. They are probably the most
versatile sub that I've ever owned or seen. They can handle more RMS
power than they're rated at (as long as it'* clean and not distorted
power) but still can thump pretty efficiently on low powered amps. They
also are the first sub I've ever seen that performs extremely well in
sealed, ported, and in free-air setups. I've tried them in all three and
they pound. They sound much richer and cleaner sealed, but really can
hit some serious dB'* ported and tuned to the right frequency. For the
record, I first owned a pair of these, powered at the time by a
SoundStream Reference 700, in a sealed box, in a 1997 Dodge Neon. My
first time in a dB drag competition. I hit 140.6 dB which was unheard of
at the time for only 2 12'*. My buddy had the same subs and amp in a 97
Cavalier. His were ported and he hit 142.0 dB. So they CAN POUND with
the right power. Currently the SoundStream Little Wonder is only
throwing about 150 to each that is in the setup. It sounds really good
but I'm just used to the chest-stabbing bass from my old setup back in
the day. I will someday have that again...

I honestly don't know why it was plugged other than high mileage being a
factor. When I had the fuel rails off for the */C coupler job the
injectors all looked good and clean. I don't think it has a leaking
injector. Too much excess fuel into the cats is what kills them, but
honestly I don't know why it was plugged. Both of my Taurus SHO'* had
the cats go around the 120k and 150k mark. I gutted them and was glad I
did.

It uses about 1 qt every 4000 miles, if you go that long in between oil
changes. Not bad for 131k miles.

Like I said, it'* an 11 year old car. It'* got some dings here and there
and a little rust starting in the rear wheel wells. Nothing is rotted
but again it'* 11 years old. I would most likely sink the money into
this car to fix the few things it needs to make it 100%, but I just am
bored with it I guess and would like to move on to something else. I
don't even know what I want next either. I'm currently driving a 2001
Taurus that was free pretty much to me.

All I can say is thank god I wasn't relying on this car as a main ride. At least my SLE was taken care of and has 0 rust on it.
