Default Proposal: BC-wide SLOW DOWN DAY

This is what the seventh or eighth accident in the last 2 weeks or so? I know I'm really not one to talk.. I drive fast and I've been really aggressive lately, but all these stories about people smacking up thier cars and narrowly avoiding serious injury has me thinking...

We all collectively as a group need to stop and take a deep breath. We're all capable of making our own decisions and if you feel like I'm talking down to you, I'm not: I'm talking WITH you because I have all the same urges and tendencies. Please, make an effort to tone down all the aggressive driving, at least for the winter. I don't want to log on and find out someone who I have really come to enjoy chatting or posting or meeting was turned into hamburger.

Don't think I'm a hypocrit. I intend on holding myself to the same standards I'm asking everyone else and in that line I have a proposal:

Lets make Sunday, December 4th an (inter)national BonnevilleClub SLOW DOWN DAY. Everyone drive no faster then 65MPH (unless you need to to protect yourself obviously). Even if you don't think you need to do this, to honor our fallen bonneville bretheren, lets do it!

Well, instead of 65 MPH, why not just say don't drive faster than conditions can safely allow. Around here it'* unsafe to drive much faster than 35 MPH on the roads when the speed limit is 55. (for several days after snowfall.)

I'm in. We got some fresh snow/ice the last few days, so I been sticking to the limit much more than normal anyway.

Sounds like a great idea, new snow or not tho.

Oh I understand. In times like this I'm going to rely more on public transportation. If I need to go downtown for class, I'll fight the crowd to get on the bus.

Since alot of our highways are now 60MPH, that'* what I've been keeping it at. When it was 55 for some reason I would push 60-65. Now 60 is what I stay at.
