Got her back....
Hey all,
Just letting you know I just got my 97 Bonnie back from the repair shop. I haven't given her the "wash & wax" inspection, that might have to wait til things get above 0c here. (It'* currently -31c w/ the wind chill, -14c w/o wind chill). Brrr..
A few things I have to rant about though... since the dealership isn't open until 7:00am tomorrow. When I bought it in, they were to repair the bumper, the styrofoam, the shock absorbers, the trunk (so it will pop), and fix the leak in the tank.
1-My exhaust tips.... my left one looks like it'* out further then my right. Any reason why a repair to my bumper would cause this? I looked at photos I took just last week, and the tips seemed to be fairly aligned.
2-They didn't fix the trunk poping issue... they said there was nothing wrong w/ it. But it still doesn't pop..... argg....
3-My antenna is missing the bottom piece... the ring that goes around the bottom. Any reason why they would have to remove that?
4-They never did find a leak in the trunk. They said they had it in "the rain machine", but they didn't see any water in the trunk. I had the mats removed before I bought her in because they were soaked after I went through the car wash.
I'm really dissappointed by their work.... the only 'good' thing is now the bumper is warrantied for life. I guess I'll have to bring her back in sometime soon. I'll be phoning them 1st thing in the morning.
Anyways... sorry just had to rant.
BTW.... sidenote... had an 2004 Intrepid while my Bonnie was in the shop. 2.7L engine. Didn't really like it, had no power going uphill. Wasn't bad on flat roads. I had it going upto 170kph, it could have gone faster. High shift points under WOT, 6500RPM. Sounded like a rice engine.

Glad you got the car back! And good thing you got the bumper warrantied. My bro got his bumper repainted in the winter months and it started peeling a month or two later. It looks like total crap now.

Yea the life time warranty is pretty good. I have it on my 91 SSE, and since the hood was replaced, if this 'new' hood EVER rusts or the paint peels... they fix it for free.
I already had them replace one of the lenses in the front bumper of my 91 that broke after they repaired it. No hassle either.
PontiacDad.... I don't think I'll need to bring in photographic proof.... I went through my old photos to make sure *I* wasn't going crazy. I even checked the photos for the little ring around my antenna... which is in the photos.
The guys at the dealership know me by now, they won't question anything I tell them.
Hrm... maybe I should have them look at my drivers door leak and my lumbar support when I put it in. I know both of THOSE repairs won't be covered, but it would save me the trouble of trying to fix it.... and maybe they'll give me a break because I had to bring it back for stuff they didn't fix.... the hassle and all.
...btw... this is my 600th post.... w00t.....
(now time for bed....my rant has turned into a ramble.....)

Ok... new info on #3.. last night when I was looking at it, it was very dark. It looked like the antenna was missing a piece. Checking again today in the light I notice that it'* not going down all the way.... arrg...
Still no info on the other problems... I'm going to phone them.

Also find out if they removed your antenna while looking for a trunk leak.

Hrm.... removing the antenna while checking for a leak... that'* a good idea... I'll ask... thanks Bill.
Any ideas about why my exhaust looks odd?

They would have detached the exhaust hanger to lower the exhaust while replacing the back bumper. They probably got it wrong when they put it back. Unless the exhaust was bent in the accident, and you didn't notice it until the other damgage got straightened out, leaving the exhaust as the only screwy thing back there?
