Default Discuss Your 1992-1999 Pontiac Bonneville (NOW SE/SLE TOO)

One of the most origional GM designs of the last two decades, this car is very intriguing to me. I have also been thinking of finding a nice '97-'99 SSEi. They just seem like such solid well built cars. I have never driven one, but the 1995 Park Avenue I drove was enough to get me to jump on the H/C Body bandwagon. I currently have a '91 W-Body Cutlass that is falling apart. I was thinking of a 2004 GP, but too expensive and i don't think its as good of a valure (no ECC, less room, No 12 way seats, etc.) The new Bonneville seems to have a list of annoying problems like window regulatiors and sterring clicking problems, and just don't seem as nice inside.

So 1992-1999 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi owners, how would you describe your car? (be honest too) (Ride, Quietness, Fun to Drive, Styling, Features, Compare to other cars, etc)

my 92: even though it was not very well taken care of by the previous owner, it still delivers tons of power effortlessly and even though the seats are worn out, they still work and are super comfortable!!! Even though it is my spare car and my project car at the moment, it is still such a super fun car to drive.

Now i do like my 04 GP. it is super roomy and Excellent on gas, although the L67 if properly tuned is equally as good on gas. i had a GTP that gets the same mileage that my GT gets!! I like that my GP has onstar and some other small features that my SSEi doesnt have but i am lucky enough to have the best of both worlds

Both of my cars are solid and hold up really well. I think that mid/full size GM vehicles are very solid and made to keep their occupants safe. Case in point my 99 GTP wrecked (mos thanks for still keeping this hosted for me)www.mos95b.com/jeff

The green Ei in the backround is mine when i first got it but now it is sittin on chrome torque stars. I personally just am a pontiac nut :P but again the 92-99 SSE(i) are super nice super dependable cars!!

You don't trully appreciate the SSEi until 2 things happen.

1) You either gut your airbox or replace it with a cai/fwi.

2) You drive up a hill and notice you're still accelerating while everyone else is slowing down.

As a daily driver they're just awesome with a nice extra kick. The car just feels like it eats up whatever the road throws at you. As a performance car, I'm dead shocked at what you can get out of a "family sedan".

For some examples of what you can get out of the car, I know of a couple good ones:

For a daily driver who just wants some extra oomph, look at BillBoost37. He has ported exhaust manifolds, energy suspension endlinks, a gutted airbox, a modular pulley system and I believe a couple of other performance mods. Basically about 600 or so invested into performance.
