As told by Boseman350:
I went to the pontiac garage today and read their service manual for 10 minutes. I found that there is a resistor next to the horn on the driver'* side fenderwell. It is behind the black pcm tray and adjacent to the horn itself. It is white porcelien and has a electrical connector into it. If you yank the 2 prong wire, you now have no more DRLs.
So far it hasn't turned on any check engine lights. I haven't had the chance to test if it has any other side effects, but I doubt it does.
Good luck! If you have any more ?'* let me know.

The DRL'* on The 2000+ model years are set up differently. The high beams are placed in series (DRL relay instead of resistor as in 96-99 models) for DRL operation. I thought someone had posted a procedure for defeating the DRL (in another forum) for the 2000+ model years.

Hmm, on my '91, my dad did find a way to disable the DRL'*... but not intentionally. He was checking one of the relays - I can't tell you which one, but it checked out okay.
By removing the relay, DRL'* were lost, however, unfortunately, the auto-on headlights were lost as well. Perhaps somebody know what relay I'm talking about
Oh, by the way, the relay was reinstalled... I have DRL'* :P
