New Tires = New Car
After experiencing winter with my old tires, I decided to get some new ones. I never realized how crappy they made the ride. I noticed at about 10-20 MPH the car would kind of wiggle back and forth, but I thought that was the cement, not the tires.
Well, with the new Bridgestone Potenza G 009s I bought, it'* like a brand new car It even quieted the power steering pump lol. I took my thumb and index finger to the sidewalls of my old tires, and they folded together like it was thin cardboard. I'm pretty sure one of those sidewalls would have given out soon.
The best part of it all is, I think I paid $360.00 shipped to my door. I then went to votech (where I went for three years), and the badass teacher was like yeah come on in we'll throw them on there for ya! I graduated only a year ago, but it seemed like a blast to the past. Either way, nice to have hookups with a shop with 6 twin post lifts and a state of the art alignment lift that was just installed less than a year ago.
The kid on the right is a kid I went to school with, he'* the one I actually let touch my car because I trust him. Not sure who the kid is on the left... but all I let him do was take out and put the ABS centercaps back in :P.
I only have like ten miles on the tires, but they BARELY spin even while turning (which is GOOD), and it corners twenty times better. It'* wierd though, old tires used to be semi-floaty. Now if you touch the wheel, you jerk left and right lol.

It'* amazing how better the ride is with good rubber. Having better control is a huge safety improvement in addition to the benefits of a smoother ride. Congrats on your purchase...where did you get them? Ebay?

Tire Rack woo lol. First purchase, I'm satisfied. They weren't expecting them to be available at the warehouse until 12/21. I picked to ship from Delaware warehouse because of the cheapness factor, but for some reason they shipped from Georgia lol.

Wow... 200ish miles now, they corner better in the rain than my old ones did on dry pavement. I went to a new development where they had the roads laid, but no curbs or houses and pushed them real hard on the soaking wet asphalt in 33* weather, NO PROBLEM. I was amazed lol. I swear I took 3-way intersection at about 20 mph and didn't have a problem (not sure if it was that fast or not, just I know it was way more than I used to be able to do).

Oh yeah, those tires kicked butt when I had them. Going triple-digits in the rain is not a problem with the G009s (though I wouldn't encourage that kind of driving).
