General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

this has to be custom... right?

Has anyone actually made a true 'vert bonne yet? I think it would look pretty slick. Course, it would have to be just a removable hard top to keep the style factor.

Those were a dealer option. Maybe someone had them custom put on by a dealer after the purchase, but otherwise it was a dealer option from what I understand.

It would be pretty hard. You would need to beef up the frame more to support all the stress from weight.

There has been a post on the forum about someone seing an '87-91 bonnie with a retractable hard top. I don't think the pictures still work, but I might have them on my computer if you're really interested.

my plans were for when i got outta college and got a new car (therefore not needing the SSEi anymore) i'd just cut the top off of the SSEi (permanently) and repaint her because she'll probably need it by that time ..and then put some 20'* on there and she'* gonna be PIMPIN! .. kINDA reminds me of the ol' convertable caddy days.

That don't even look right! Well anyway, I saw one with a custom ragtop and it was pretty sweet, but not a convertable Bonnie!

Here they are! Note - these are pictures of a convertible bonnie that someone has posted on this forum before. I'm just reposting them because the links are now dead. This is not my car... :(
