That 2nd to last pic is a good pic. If you take a close look, you will see that his trans does NOT have the reinforced diff cover, though he has the 3.06 ratio. My SSEi was the same way...it had the HD trans, but the diff cover was rather dinky. '94 appears to be the first year of those covers as my SSE has that.
And thanks for the compliment Bill. Coming from you, that'* a big 'atta boy

The end is near!!!!
Don was supposed to come over tomorrow so we can work on it together to get the engine moored in and plumbed up.
But I got impatient.
My neighbors came over and helped me lower in the new powerplant. She went in without so much a whimper....it literally sat itself into place. It'* bolted to the trans (with the exception of that friggen reverse bolt) and the TAM is installed. I topped that all off with installing the front mani, oil tube, and a few other knicknacks. Tomorrow, if the fates allow it, Gwen will awaken from her slumber.
Pics to follow....and here they are

Yeah...I've been hearing that alot.
It looks good because it'* clean. I could have put the motor in the car as-is. I chose not to. It had to get cracked open to check the guts regardless, so new gaskets had to go in. And there was no point in reassembling dirty pieces.
The fact of the matter is a clean engine is a happy engine. It runs cooler, looks better, and it is much easier to spot leaks. I did the same thing with my motor when I put it in, and to this day I can spot a leak as soon as it happens. It'* preventative maintainence, during maintainence

Yeah Brad has done a lot of the work himself... I was there for a little bit of it and was able to see it come apart and help put a little of it together..
I have taken on yet another project and have not been hanging around Brads house as much...
Your SSE has been an ongoing project a little at a time...
William all I can say is the old motor looked to be leaking at every corner... I can't imagine what that motor went though until it made it to the Booze family... I am interested in seeing it disassembled..
I had a bit of a question for you tho... Did you guys do the R134a retrofit? Or did you get the car that way? I didn't see a retrofit sticker, so I was wondering if you added the Ester oil to the system when you went to 134a?
BTW The motor looks great...
