Default GXP versus SSEI

I was reading this posts and just wanted to point out that in the Pontiac Bonneville Dealer brochure from 2002 it states on the 1st page that a SSEI runs 0-60 in 7.64 and 30-50 in 2.85 and 50-80 in 7.38 and a 16.60 at 89.2 mph in the 1/4 mile and is comparing it to a 300 M,a GS 300 and a LS V6 which it beat all of them. Also the 2004 Bonneville dealer Brochure states that a GXP runs 0-60 in 6.5 seconds which is over a full secod faster..My question is are they lying because I hear in this forum that the SSEI is quicker from 0-60.I own a 04 GXP and a modded 98 Daytona Grand Prix with Supercharged 3.8 and the Grand Prix is faster but when it was stock I dont think there was much difference.I do admit the 3.8 has more power from the start and the GXP makes it at higher end but I dont believe there is much difference when they are both stock. The 3:71 gear definatly helps the GXP and would help the SSEI but Im talking about both cars being bone stock and I know there is no mods for a GXP and a modded SSEI would win hands down.

You're pretty much right. Stock for stock, the cars are fairly similar ... not identical, but somewhat similar to each other. SSEi has the low end grunt, GXP has the high end power. Modified cars are a different story.

That'* pretty much the jist of it.

I'm not going to lock this because I know we won't have an arguement thread again about this.

SSEi runs 16.6 on the 1/4 mile? That isn't right. A healthy Series II SSEi will run low 15'* correct?

Heck...don't worry about it unless you are aiming to go against one at the track.

Hans, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask why pontiacGXP is a guest. But I think this is the reason why. Next time, PM the moderators. Cool, don't want them scolding you. http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=48871

Now back on topic.

This L67 PA Ultra ran a 15.36 with the only mod being that the baffle in the airbox were pulled out...
16.6 is SE territory, not SSEi... :?

Hell my GP GT runs 15.3'* with just exhaust! So I would sure hope that an SSEi with a lot more power and torque and of course a little more weight would do AT LEAST that well.
