Default good deal? car purchase...

there is a (i think 93-94 SSEi for sale in my town. it has the two foglights closer together than the 93 SE'*) dark green, has some ugly dark green "3 spoke" wheels. the sign says 4,000 or B/O. I talked to someone on the phone about it and they said it has the "check engine" light problem on. The lady said it just came on, and they were going to bring it into the shop to look at it. There'* around 109K miles on it.. is there anything i should be looking for if i choose to buy this car? does anything go wrong with the motor around this milestone? thanks.

she would like nice with the wheels i have on my bonnie now

I just purchased a 93 SSEi for $3500 and it had 87K on it. These cars are pretty much as durable as they come. Transmissions are the weak link. But if she chooses not to get it fixed i'd see if you could talk her down.

Might try to talk her down anyway, regardless of the SES light. Maybe, if you're sure on a lower price in your head and waved that amount of cash in front of her face, you'd get a deal

Well hard to say here if its a good deal?
Go take a look a test drive and have it scanned. Come back and tell us what condition it is in and how it runs.

Bring a paperclip to do it You can bring us the codes. Otherwise just check up on basic things. You'll most likely be spending about 200 in tuneups for regular maintenance. If the */C is kinda squeaking, then you'll need a new coupler.

I'd try and talk it down too. Check for rust spots under the wheel wells and under the rubber guards on the front of the rear wheel wells. Check the suspension and make sure the endlinks match

Good luck, and at least have a fun test drive.

Press everybutton you see, I forgot to do that with the 93, and the seller "forgot" to tell me the headlights were messed up...
