Default hood insulator with "sse bonneville" logo

at wreckers today, saw '91 sse, under hood sound insulator had big white lettering (clearly original) saying SSE
BONNEVILLE

I've read a few other posts here where people mention their cars have such. Sadly, this one was pretty torn up, or I would have taken it, and tried to fit it to my '95 ssei (with no lettering on the insulator).

Far as I know, my insulator is original but has no lettering, anyone know which years sse/ssei came with lettered hood insulators, and/or why mine isn't lettered? Is there a GM part# for a lettered hood insulator for a 95?

Thanks,

My 90 sse has the white lettering on it. One thing a friend of mine did with his GA GT was made a stencil and painted his hood insulator. It turned out pretty sweet too.

just want to confirm, the GM P/N 25646138 is for a SSE/SSEI specific hood insulator with logo lettering, there would be some other P/N for a SE non-lettered hood insulator, right?

Also, I like the stencil idea, I think I might try it. Thanks

our 1995 SSE did not have one, nor our 1992 SE, or our 2000 SSEi

Mine has one. It says "SSE" and it has the Pontiac logo (even though it'* an SSEi).

most likely to save money. it costs less to make a bunch of ones that say SSE instead of some that say SE, SSE, and SSEi.

of course. I just want to know why every single Bonneville we buy, we get jipped and never get the cool insulators. Even the fully loaded SSE, and SSEi didn't have it. :?

My insulator doesn't have anything and I don't wanna go get a SSE insulator...thats kinda poser"ish" to do that esp with an SE

Duct tape to the right of the E might just do it for a quick fix
