Sounds like a nice deal! Tell him you want it for $14,000 out the door (including sales tax if you have it) and be prepared to walk out. If you show you are serious about your price, you have a better chance at them agreeing.

Are you a cash buyer (i.e., cash in pocket or pre-arranged financing)?

If so, offer $12,500. If they balk, take a walk.

Yes, I'm doing the financing through my credit union. When I get it on the lift tomorrow to check it out is there anything I should look closely at?

there are a few GXPs and lots of 2003 SSEis in that pricerange with very similar miles..Keep that in mind. A GXP or SSEi will have a MUCH better resale value when you decide to sell it...

Crap! Thats a better price than I paid. I paid $13,500 for a 02 with 58,000 miles. But i'd still work on getting it cheaper lol

For an '03, I'd take it at that price if they didn't lower it! I'd love an 03 SSEi. I'm surprised it doesn't have HUD. That'* almost a necessity at 128mph. lol

I didn't buy the car yet (03 ssei) I don't know if I should. My salesman was out when I got to the dealer today so I just left the keys and went. I need to think about it more.

Here is what we found today at the garage. The A/C didn't work when we checked it. It is something in the controls but were not sure what it is. When CR jumped out the relay the compressor came on and it worked and even cooled??? I had a past problem in my 95 and it happened to be a valve under the dash (35$ part plus $150 laber). Not knowing how much this could cost bothers me about buying it the most. There is also tanny pan leak (very miner) but still a leak.

Question about the SuperCharger. No, I didn't take the belt off to check the pulley for play and I know now should had. When I got back home from the garage with my dad I noticed while I was in park in the driveway it I push on the gas and then let off I here a light chatter as the RPMs are coming back down (very very faint). Sounds like it may be coming from it. Is it a normal sound for the SC to do this. MY 93 Ultra always made a load chatter at ideal and would clear up when I would push on the gas. So I don't know it this is normal or a indication of a future issue.

The body was in average condition for a 4yr old car. No dings but it did have some rock chips on the hood and scuffs on both sides.

CR said mechanically it looks to have been taken very good care of and I agree with that. I was just hoping for it to not have any big issues (A/C). I was wanting to try and neg. more off the price to help cover the cost of the breaks and tires. I can't see them coming down much more as it is, and if I do even get them too the A/C bothers me and I know there not gonna give it away. BTW, My first offer was 12,500 and they said we were to far out at that price. What do you guys thing?

That car is worth $12.5k in pristine cosmetic condition and with absolutely no mechanical issues. In the condition you describe, it is worth maybe $9 to $10k.

Keep looking and be patient. You've got pre-arranged financing, and that puts YOU totally and completely in control of the outcome of the negotiations.

I don't know how many times you've used car shopped, but let me give you a tip: you'll chase at least 20 leads and actually go look at a minimum of 5 cars before you find the right car at the right price.
