When I checked the kkb on it it comes up as a value between 11,700 (excellent trade in value) to 15,800 (excellent retail value). And it'* 14,000 to 16400 on NADA.

Even with those values These cars seem to be priced high in my area http://www.cars.com/go/search/search...post&aff=wpost

I am trying to find the SLE model because I don't care for it to have a supercharger. But if I find a deal on a ssei I would buy it. I emailed CarMax about the price and they called me and we spoke about it. Still no good, the price is the price.
I haven't seen any 04 GXP'* around here for that low. How does the 4.6 compare to the 3.8? I have really liked my 95 (wife drives it) and want to get a newer one. I plan to drive the old one to work so I can stop putting so many miles on my truck. Thanks for your help

It seems like you're not totally interested in having a supercharger, so it seems like you'd like the 4.6 in the GXP. The L67 is definitely more of a go-fast engine, as there are more parts out there for it, and it has the always great low-end torque. The 4.6 has 'longer legs' though and is more impressive on the high end. If you were interested in going faster, you'd want the 3.8 SC.

If I had to choose I'd take the 4.6 over the NA 3.8 in a heartbeat. But that'* just me.
I love the L67, but I also wouldn't mind having the V8 feel and sound of the GXP someday.

In terms of mileage, I've heard the 4.6 is not that great, but I really don't know how true that is. Let the GXP owners chime in on that. The 3.8 NA or SC obviously is capable of 30mpg+. I'm sure the 4.6 can get close to that if you're not hammering it.

Aright, I went and drove a 2003 SSEI today and I still have it at my house right now. I know I said I wasn't looking for this model unless it was a good deal, so, here is the deal 2003 ssei with 42,600 miles on it, black with gray leather. It has everything except the HUD. I talked with the sale guy some on the price and he has lowered it to 14,500. He said the manager won't let him go any lower and I would need to talk with the him at this point to try to get the price down anymore.
I got the car for the night to check it out. My dad'* friend has a shop and tomorrow at 8am he'* going to look at it. Carfax show one owner and a clean title. NADA and Kelly blue book show it'* value at, Trade in at 13375 , Retail at 15850. I know the dealers us lower values when you trade in your car too.
The car looks to be in great shape but if I buy it I will go ahead and replace the tires, they are close to the limit but good enough to pass inspection. The rotors are warped, I can feel this when I did a simi-hard breaking at 60+ miles an hour. I don't see anything else that stands out and the fluids look good. There is only a 30 day 50/50 powertrain warranty from the dealer no factory warranty.
What do you guys think of the price? I would like them to come down another 1,000. But I don't know how much more their willing to go. The original price was high at 16,999.
Also is there anything I should look real close at with this model year that might be a problem.

bonnie94ssei,
I owned a 1993 Park Avenue Ultra and to me it'* power wasn't much if anymore than my 1995 SSE. I couldn't believe the power in this car when I drove it home today. What'* different about the 93 ultra and this 03 ssei that makes the ssei feel like it'll run circles around the ultra.

That SSEi sounds like a really good deal. But see this line you wrote?

he has lowered it to 14,500. He said the manager won't let him go any lower
It'* bull, when they say that, ask to speak to his manager and make a lower offer if you choose. That'* how my dad talked the dealer down to 14,500 for his '03 Durango.

Tell them you'll pay that price, but for them to either put new tires on it, or give you a better warranty. How many miles does this SSEi have?

42,600 miles. And I do plan to speak with the manager to try to see how much lower he'll go. I hope to get it for somewhere between 13,500-14,000. I don't know but I'm gonna try.
