Foaming Coolant '79 GMC van

Van has a hard time idling, but starts up normally when we pump the gas. Noticed today, after it stalled out, the coolant has been foaming white...any ideas?

I'm going to suspect head gasket because of the foaming nature of the coolant. If it was an intake gasket, the coolant would be disappearing.

I agree possible headgasket. Does the cooling system have pressure after a few minutes of running ? And you might want to pull the plugs and check for coolant on the plugs.
