Do you have to be the original owner of the car to be in on this (ie. bought it brand new)? If not, where do I sign up???

$50 will be about 5x what you see. Class action suits typically pay fractions of cents on the dollar.

My 99 SLE is under 150K miles still. Does that mean I'm covered by the $5 for the UIM replacement, if need be? I'm running the Prestone stuff, and that'* how the car was when I bought it. Do I have much to do with this?

My bet is you must be the original owner (purchaser). They're not going to pay everyone that'* owned the car over time.

The settlement will require you to provide proof that you owned or leased the vehicle at the time of the repair and that you paid for one of the repairs described above. If you do not have a receipt, ask the auto repair shop that did the work to provide you with one.
It tells you who to contact if you are interested in joining the suit.

As to the comments on $ amount and the statement that the lawyers are the only ones that make any money on class actions, I have to agree.

Other than the info I provided verbatim from the letter, I have no further knowledge on the actual workings of this Class Action. I'm just a lowly guy who got on a mailing list as I was interested in the goings on of this action.
