Suggestions / recommendations on ODBII / ODB2 tools
I've got a question. I currently have a 1996 Bonneville SSE (non-Supercharged) and I do a LOT of work myself. When I have had a code pop up, I head to AutoZone, they tell me the code, reset / erase it, etc.. Works fine for most things but I want my own scanner.
So after much research, I've got two options that I like:
The first is one that hooks to a computer (I have a Dell Lattitude D600 laptop already) and displays thing son the PC screen. It'* also $200+... Here'* a link:
http://www.autotap.com/product_famil...&TrailType=Top
Next I have a good Scanning tool at a great price ($80):
http://www.amazon.com/Equus-3100-Dia...8&*=automotive
It also has USB hook ups for dumping data to the laptop, but doesn't seem as cool or fully functioning as the other one.
Does anyone have experience with either of these or something else that I should look at?
Keep in mind that I am a major computer geek AND car geek too. I'd love to be able to re-program the SSE'* computer myself if possible.
Thanks!
