the v6 is rated at 170 hp with 165 fp of torque.

I'd go for it...I went for many cars when I had an L27, all were much lighter than me. They were no match for my torque. L36 with 205 hp and 230 peak tq...IMO you'd beat him.

Never did like those new Cougars.

after '73 Cougars went downhill, but then again so did everything, but the cougars never came back

i raced a newer V6 cougar (on the track of course) and absolutely slaughtered him with my L27....your SLE will have no problems
