Right, right... Someone slap us for having some fun here...

I don't think that the GP or Pontiacs in general are bad cars. GM isn't quite up to import standards for reliability yet, but that is true for most all domestic manufacturers. I've owned a GTP, and it had it'* share of troubles, but it was also great fun. Now my current Grand Am on the other hand....

But we won't go there - that would be off topic.

I don't think that'* so true. I have known LOTS of people who have had nothing but problems with imports. my friend has a 2002 civic and she'* already had to replace the altenator, and the motor sounds rough. Also, sitting in her back seat is like sitting on a bench Boo will testify to that ...
I've known other people with civics that had the motor go at 180k and he was very adament on NEVER buying import again.
My car has 220k (137miles on it for the americans) on it and it has just started "going" last december. and by "going" i mean me having to replace things. Nothing major either; front hubs, sending unit, oil sensor, and windsheild. It is still running strong and has tonnes of life left. I have never personally seen an import over 300k kms...heard of them, but never seen one with my own eyes.

You've had a good experience in your bonnie, and so have I. Very reliable. But I'm not sure that many imports can match the ammount of repairs that i've had to make in the 10 or so months that i've owned my '96 Grand Am . So far we've had two wheel bearings, two ABS sensors, a radiator, a starter, and the low coolant sensor. And the thing only has 87,000 miles on it.

I know that our bonnies are good cars, but have you ever looked at the reliability information in a Consumer Reports magazine? It'* amazing how reliable most hondas and toyotas are when compared to domestic.
