junkyard gem
here is the deal I was cruising the local yard and I found a 95 riviera that is the l67 I assuming they are waiting on getting the paperwork to get rid of it would it be worth 750 to get the motor and trans and axles then have it to mod out of the car and then this next summer install it all with all the mods.
I am thinking
cam
headers slp
rockers
ported LIM and supercharger intercooled charger
ported tb
larger injectors
as for the tranny
lsd
shift kit
higher converter
any thoughts appreciated

I'm not 100% sure about the Riviera, but if it'* a '95 like you said, wouldn't that be the Series 1 motor and the 4t60E-HD trans? If that'* the case, and you're looking to mod, Series 2 and 4t65E-HD trans would make WAY more sense IMO.

well I do believe his mod list is do-able even for a series one. Transmission wise I know nothing. But don't make him doubt! Every car has good potential if its organized correctly.
Yes a series two would yield a wider mod market with Intense Racing ALONE, but there is still club members who know how to port and polish etc and who are willing to help.
Sounds good to me if the car seems worth it to you!

Is there an aftermarket for the 4t60 trans at all though? Do you know of any headers. whether SLP'* or not, available for the series 1? (not mocking, I'm just questioning)
You'd need different axles at least because the Riviera'* (G-body) won't fit.
Maybe I'm off base, but it would seem rather pointless to try and make a '95 Riviera series 1 motor, trans, pcm, etc, etc work with a 2002 series 2 Bonnie.

well I thought that the s2 came out in 95 that is why I was interested. if it is a s1 I will not even bother doing anything to it unless someone here needs parts and I would help out there. I could be wrong I just thought that 95 was the first year and I could be wrong on the year of the car too and I will wait and see what the actual motor is. this thing is locked up tight and they are waiting for the title transfer and the keys to it so I am thinking that in the next few days I will know more I just thought for the price if it was a s2 that is too good of a deal for one considering they are 1k + on ebay

And I am sorry about my first post...I kinda misread the topic post. I thought he said he found a WHOLE good car.
Yeah dillcc is right gojo...those have different engines, different transmissions, different axles, different electrical and everything. I'm sure it could be done, but it would not be worth it at all. Find a series II from a bonneville man. so much easier.

95 Riv'* are Series 1.
cam you can do. Custom from Compcams would be best if you know the specs.
headers slp will not fit the car. They don't support Series 1.
rockers you can do.
ported LIM and supercharger intercooled charger all DIY
ported tb all DIY
larger injectors Why? I'm still running stockers.
as for the tranny
lsd You can do this.
shift kit should be the TransGo 4T60E Jr.
higher converter You'll regret.
For those discussing the 4T60 here, you seem to forget what I have in the Zilla.
